Scholarship Information:

Scotland’s British Council The SGSAH EARTH Scholarships program, which is funded by the British Council, enables international research collaborations between PhD and Early Career Researchers, Scottish HEIs, academic mentors based in Scotland, and outside organizations. Its focus is on environmental arts and humanities and their interdisciplinary connections. Between March and July 2023, the scholarships will be awarded (including a compulsory, in-person cohort training programme in April 2023). Scholarship applications can be set up to support ongoing research being done as a PhD or postdoctoral study, or they can be a separate, independent initiative that nonetheless expands the researcher’s networks, knowledge base, and experience. The scholarship might also be designed so that the researcher contributes to and advances an ongoing study at the

  • Wider awareness and study of environmental arts and humanities disciplines in the Scottish context

Conditions for Scholarships:

When applying for the SGSAH, you must:

  • being a current PhD scholar in the arts and humanities enrolled at any university outside the United Kingdom
  • being an ECR in the humanities who received their education in a non-UK institution

Scholarship Duration and Reward

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

Method of Application

SGSAH will not accept late applications where there has been a systems failure at the applicant’s end (e.g failure of internet connection). For this reason, applicants are strongly advise to complete the application process at least 48 hours in advance of the deadline.
